Stage 6a Vuelta Independencia Nacional 2010
boilyEric Boily win stage 6a and Augusto sanchez captures yellow jersey. Michael Joanisse is the only TDQ / Nativo rider in the break.

By Michael Joanisse
I weak up. I want to go back to sleep...I think everybody does. Yesterday was hard and I can feel it in my legs. My whole body is tired and tells me not to ride. But that's what makes you a strong person or a weak person. So you take your bike and you go on the starting line, no matter what. After half of the race, I'm on a breakway again! I knew it was going to make it to the line. But, I'm telling myself : "What are you doing there, weren't you supposed to be tired today ? ..." Well, I don't know, sometimes your motivation gives you extra power. We were over 20 riders to get away. We caught the 3 riders up front. For the first 15km, the group was being pulled by the Kazakhs guys. They were keeping it at a speed over 55km/h, I was spinning my 53/11 for a while! I tried to keep myself for the final sprint, but at this point in the season and in the tour, my legs were out of gaz and I could not battle for the podium spots.

This was the stage that we really clicked as a team. The beginning of the stage was hard with a lot of attacking and a group of 20 getting up the road. Even though we had Michael in the break we knew we had messed up. The four of us rode hard on the front split the field and dragged another 5 guys with us. We drove the break in pursuit of the leaders for 60km but in the end finished 4 minutes ahead of the shattered field.
