Adam Pierzga win stage 6b of the Vuelta, a 10km time trial. Jean-Michel Lachance and Michael Joanisse talks about their race.
By Jean-Michel LachanceThis morning, when I looked at the number 13 on the car, I was not expecting to have such bad luck; flatting, missing the break and lose 5min on the stage. Anyway, after that 50km ttt, I was up for the time trial and to give my best.
By Michael Joanisse:
Time trial in the afternoon. It is one of those days where you don't have anything left in the tank...but you still got to give it all for you and for the team classification. I touched my leg muscles before the start, they felt really tight and painful. But, after all, it's only 10km so I tried but after no more than 50 meters I knew I was not going to do anything today. I kept my pace but my legs were not turning like I wanted, I was pushing a big gear because my heart rate didn't want to go up. That's a sign when your body is really tired. The last 5km were headwind...(sigh)
I passed the line and went straight to the hotel to get some rest with my teammates. Hoping that tomorrow would be better.
